Pictures for decoration: common themes

Image: Bright Sky - Wolken Clouds

With this hanging method, the pictures are bound together by the common motif and merge to form a complete work of art. A set of several images or a motif presented from different perspectives creates a special effect. At the centre remains the principal motif, made of several parts or representing similar motifs in different ways. The elements do not necessarily have to be the same size and their number can vary freely. However, the composition appears particularly strong when designed with large images.

Our tips for associating creations:

1. A classic triptych in three parts.

2. Images connect along a line. Example: images of the horizon.

3. Different images or image details with a similar pattern and exactly the same size. Example: mountain landscape in a forest.

4. Photos with the same object but from different angles. Example: images of clouds.

5. Very different images, but all in the same color scheme.

ART-PRINTS-ON-DEMAND.COM allows you to select images. Once the image size has been selected, a pair of scissors appears with which you can select only one detail of the image.

When you design your wall decoration, also note the distance between the images, you can create some air with the distances (5-12 cm are optimal) or align the images so that they tell a story. If the formats are different, the alignment of the images will be a bit more difficult.

Like symmetrical arrangements, uniform image groups respond to sensory organization and the desire for internal cohesion.
